More than 40 thousand refugees from Donbass arrived in the Rostov region. This, as reported by RIA Novosti, was announced by the acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Chupriyan.
“There was information that more than 40 thousand people were forced to leave the neighboring regions of Ukraine and arrived on Russian territory. Now they are located mainly in the Rostov region,” he said.
According to Chupriyan, about 2,000 refugees from Donbass were taken by train from Rostov to Voronezh and Kursk regions at night.
At the same time, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that it was better not to place refugees in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories because of the upcoming tourist season.
Earlier, the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, announced the introduction of a state of emergency in the region due to the increase in refugees from the Donbass. The evacuation of residents of the DPR and LPR to Russia began due to the aggravation of the situation. The authorities of these republics announced a general mobilization.
