There were no orders to liberate the territories of certain areas of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions by force. Alexei Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, told journalists on Friday evening about this.
“Today, two people made statements regarding the evacuation of citizens from the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, They said that allegedly our military were going to attack Donetsk and Lugansk in order to liberate our territories… All this is absolutely untrue,” said Danilov, whose words are quoted UNIAN.
He noted that if a decision is made to liberate these territories, there will be great casualties among the civilian population. “Therefore, there can be no such decree in our country,” the NSDC Secretary stressed.
Earlier on Friday, the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics announced the start of the evacuation of the population to Russia. The first buses have already reached the border. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR, it is planned to evacuate 700 thousand people. In Russia, on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, refugees will be paid 10,000 rubles each.
