In one of the Khabarovsk military units, a conscript was beaten. The details of the incident were told to Gazeta.Ru by the mother of one of the victims, Natalya Kichigina.

The media reported that on the night of February 16, in a military unit in the Khabarovsk Territory, a senior warrant officer began to beat soldiers with a stick. The son of Kichigina, who tried to intercede for his colleagues, was hit with a bat in the kidneys by a sergeant who was nearby.

The mother of one of the injured conscripts, Natalya Kichigina, told Gazeta.Ru that before the beating, the ensign had a verbal skirmish with the soldiers, during which “he humiliated the soldiers in every possible way, to the point of raping him.” After the incident, Kichigina’s son was taken to the Khabarovsk hospital, and the rest of the victims are still in the unit.

The soldiers tell the woman that they are being pressured not to talk about what happened.

According to Kichigina, to date, the unit’s leadership has not taken any action, and the senior warrant officer and sergeant, who are accused of beating, continue to work. “The military prosecutor’s office came to my son at the hospital, they took a statement, and that’s all,” Natalya Kichigina concluded.
