Two-time Olympic medalist Irina Slutskaya commented on the results of the 14th day of the Olympics, in which the Russians won gold and silver in women’s figure skating. The two-time world champion believes that the final was “extremely unexpected.”
According to her, the Olympics were “extremely difficult for our team of skaters and will definitely go down in history as one of the most scandalous.”
In her Instagram, the athlete expressed sympathy for Kamila Valieva, who performed against the backdrop of a doping scandal. “Our pain. Camila, hold on! I am sure that in four years you will show such a class, ”Slutskaya wrote, noting that Valieva “managed to fall in love with the whole world.”
She also congratulated Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova on their achievements. “Trusova impressed us with her jumps. Five quads in one program is a historic achievement, ”the figure skater believes. She admitted that she expected from Shcherbakova “such an ideal rental, which she demonstrated.”
Earlier, Slutskaya had already called Valieva a “hero of the Olympics”, noting that the child was not allowed to sleep for half the night due to a doping scandal and trials.
Recall that Shcherbakova received “gold”, Trusova set a silver record, and Valieva took only fourth place.
