The region with the most polluted air in Russia is the Krasnoyarsk Territory, RBC reports with reference to the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova. According to her, this indicator is influenced by the high level of emissions in industrial Norilsk.
As Radionova said, the total amount of emissions into the atmosphere in the region is 1.8 million tons per year (11% of emissions in Russia), or 30 thousand cars. At the same time, we are talking only about registered objects – however, the department believes that accounting methods are “not entirely correct.”
The city of Cherepovets in the Vologda Oblast takes the second place in terms of emissions. The volume of emissions there reaches 280 thousand tons (1.7% of all emissions in the Russian Federation). Closes the top three Novokuznetsk in the Kemerovo region – 278 thousand tons (1.6%).
As Radionova said, if we consider the situation in terms of the amount of harm for 2020-2022, then the most polluted territories in Russia, according to the department, are the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Krasnodar and Primorsky Territories. This is followed by the Astrakhan and Yaroslavl regions, the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Irkutsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
