Doctor and TV presenter Yevgeny Komarovsky spoke about the treatment of the omicron coronavirus strain at home.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Komarovsky emphasized that bed rest is not needed in the treatment of Omicron, since “the respiratory muscles work best in an upright position, and this is fundamentally important.” According to him, “if there is lethargy, weakness, if it’s really bad and you want to lie down,” then you can lie down. However, if the patient can sit or even stand up and walk around, then “must move.”

Komarovsky also added that you don’t need to eat through force if you don’t feel like it. And if the appetite has not disappeared, then it is better to eat “something light, preferably semi-liquid, even carbohydrate.” At the same time, it is imperative to drink a lot, regardless of desire, since the amount of liquid affects the viscosity of blood and sputum. The temperature of the drink can be any, the doctor clarified, however, with a shortage of liquid, a liquid whose temperature corresponds to body temperature is best suited.

Komarovsky also recalled the need to ventilate the room “to the maximum” and maintain the temperature in it “not higher than 20 degrees”.

The doctor stressed that you can not take antibiotics and other “serious” drugs on your own. For medical prescriptions, you must consult a doctor.
