Peskov joked about the US invasion of Canada and rebuked Biden for threatening Russia

The official representative of President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, made it clear that the Kremlin is unhappy with President Joe Biden’s appeal to the Russians, with which he tried to warn Moscow against military aggression against Ukraine.

According to Peskov, there will be no response from the Russian leader to US citizens. The speaker of the head of state emphasized that “it would be unreasonable” if the Russian Federation “explained to the whole world <…> why not attack Ukraine,” Peskov said.

Complementing his answer to a question about Putin’s “plans” to address the American people, Peskov added jokingly: “You mean with a call not to attack Canada?”

The spokesman noted that Biden’s words that the Russians are not America’s enemies “probably should impress” Russia. “There is nothing reprehensible in this. We can probably welcome that the President of the United States, one of the largest countries in the world, one of the most powerful states, is thinking about the Russian people,” Peskov said.

At the same time, Moscow does not like the tone chosen by the head of the White House yesterday, Peskov said.
