The ongoing joint military exercises “Allied Resolve-2022” with Russia on the territory of Belarus are accompanied by anti-records for the incidence of coronavirus and anxious moods among the population. Reported by Belprauda.

According to the publication, which refers to official statistics, the spread of “omicron” continues at a rapid pace, and there are already many military personnel among the sick. The most alarming situation is in the Gomel region, where the infected military have already begun to be placed in field camps.

In addition, the fear of war is growing among the population with distrust that Russian troops will leave the territory of Belarus after the completion of the exercises. The site also points out that locals are wary of “somewhat overexcited” Russian troops with weapons and the fact that military equipment moves around the border area freely, “like regular buses”, destroying roads in the process.

Among other things, there is information that the military is cutting down forests in recreation areas to warm field camps, drunkenness is rampant around, and civilians prefer not to go out at night. Although, the site clarifies, no outrageous incidents have yet been reported.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian military personnel would begin to return to their permanent deployment points after the end of the exercises in Belarus. The units of the Southern and Western military districts began loading onto transport and should have already moved out.

Recall that in Belarus from February 10 to 20, joint exercises with Russia “Allied Resolve-2022” are being held. Representatives of the two countries have repeatedly stated that the maneuvers are defensive in nature and do not threaten anyone.

The Ministry of Defense also reported on the course of the exercises. It announced the beginning of the withdrawal to the places of permanent deployment of those units that have already completed their tasks.
