After the murder of the former mayor of El Triunfo Andrés Macías Castillo, the Police and Prosecutor’s Office carry out investigations to find those responsible for the crime that occurred this Monday, February 14, on 8 de Abril and Juan Montalvo avenues, in the center of this town. from the province of Guayas.

Nelson Pantoja, police chief of the El Triunfo district, pointed out that the former official had been the victim of two previous attacks.

The remains of former mayor Macías were veiled at his home on Tuesday the 15th. His relatives preferred not to give statements and opted for a slightly more intimate burial.
In that population there is dismay over the events, and although the residents do not want to speak openly, they ask for the intervention of the Police to stop these violent events.
El Triunfo is a canton dedicated to agriculture and has an important commercial activity. In its jurisdiction there is an important hectareage destined to sugar cane.
