This Tuesday, the magazine Times Higher Education (THE) released a new ranking ranking of universities in the world. These are the best higher education institutions that are less than 50 years old.
The list includes two Ecuadorian universities for the first time. The publication evaluates the teaching, research, international perspective and his work with industry.
“The ranking was created using the same methodology as THE World University Rankings, but the weights have been recalibrated to reflect the missions of the younger universities.

Compared to the previous year, Paris Sciences et Lettres-PSL Research University Paris (France) leads the ranking (in 2021 it was ranked second); it is followed by Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (the previous year it led the list). In third place continues The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The best Latin American university in the ranking is the Autonomous University of Chile, in position 144, followed by the University of Development, also from the South American country, in position 157.
The Universidad San Francisco de Quito (position 251-300) and the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (position 401+) are Ecuadorian higher education centers that have a ranking. In the list there are a total of 539 universities, however, there are 251 institutions that have a status of reporter since they “provided data, but did not meet our eligibility criteria to receive a classification,” explains the magazine.
The institutions with this status are the Israel Technological University, the University of the Americas, the National University of Chimborazo, the University of Espiritu Santo Specialties, the University of the Pacific, and the UTE University, among others. (I)
