Two people who were traveling by mototaxi were killed in Pedernales

Two people were shot while traveling in a mototaxi on the Pedernales-El Carmen road, in the north of the province of Manabí, on the night of this Monday the 14th.

One of the victims, who could not be identified at the site, died a few meters from a shopping plaza, located on the road to El Carmen, and the other person, recognized as John Cervantes, driver of the mototaxi, was located at the traffic light entrance to the land terminal.

Initially, Cervantes was transferred by firefighters to the Pedernales mobile hospital, where doctors verified his death.

Jaime Salazar, deputy commander of Zone 4 of Manabí, announced that, according to preliminary reports, two subjects who were traveling on a motorcycle had shot the occupants of the mototaxi in a hitman style. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Monday.

According to the first inquiries of the National Police and the Fire Department, the unidentified person would be a citizen of Venezuelan nationality, who received several bullet wounds in the chest and died immediately near the commercial plaza.

Criminalistics personnel and the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) of the Police arrived at the place where the victims were.

After the authorization of the prosecutor on duty, they carried out the removal of the corpses and transferred them to the Santo Domingo morgue. (I)
