A traffic accident in the rural Chauchín sector, Julio Andrade parish, 20 kilometers from Tulcán, caused the death of two people and injuries to another.
The event was recorded on Monday night at 10:40 p.m., when two vehicles, one light and one heavy, collided on the road.
Édgar Portilla, head of Traffic in Carchi, reported that a small vehicle and a truck collided, causing the overturning and precipitation in the lower plane, that is, both cars rolled down a slope for about 200 meters.
Several relief agencies arrived in the sector to provide assistance and first aid.

This emergency led to the death of a 7-year-old minor and police officer John Alcarraz, who served in the Napo Police Subzone. The uniformed man was driving the sedan car at the time of the event.
According to the police report, the minor died when he was transferred to the Luis Gabriel Dávila hospital in Tulcán.
A third occupant who was traveling in the light car was injured and is in the state health home in the provincial capital. The truck driver would have fled the site leaving the heavy vehicle abandoned.
In the morning, the two accident vehicles were evacuated and transferred to the patios of the Traffic Headquarters in Tulcán.
