Around noon this Tuesday, February 15, the alert of a possible suicide of a citizen who was at the Bellavista viewpoint, in western Guayaquil, was reported.
Given the alert, teams from the Guayaquil Fire Department mobilized to the area.
According to witnesses, a woman arrived alone in the area, took off her shoes, dropped a bag with documents and headed down one of the slopes of the hill, despite the fact that the staff in charge of the space called her attention for it.
Major Julio Jalón, brigade chief of the Fire Department, indicated that when the attention protocol began, they were notified that the woman had already launched herself. The victim was about 20 years old.
“The person fell in the back of a plastics company… Paramedical personnel at the point checked vital signs and confirmed the death of the person,” he said.
On February 1, a man jumped from the 17th floor of one of the apartment buildings in the Puerto Santa Ana sector, in the north center of the city. (I)
