The finance ministers of the G7 (G7) countries, which include the US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany and Japan, have warned Russia of “massive” sanctions in the event of its “invasion” of Ukraine, according to the Israel News portal.

“Any further Russian aggression against Ukraine will be met with an immediate coordinated and powerful response. We are ready for the collective imposition of sanctions that will have strong and immediate consequences for the Russian economy,” the G7 ministers made it clear.

Recall that recently in Western countries, as well as in Ukraine, there have been statements about a possible “invasion” of Russia into Ukrainian territory. American speakers argue that the attack could happen “any day”.

Moscow denies all accusations and maintains that Russia poses no threat to anyone. Earlier, various Western media indicated that the sign of the “invasion” is the accumulation of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. At the same time, among the likely anti-Russian sanctions were both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT international interbank settlement system.

Meanwhile, the deputy chairman of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) faction in the Bundestag, Alexander Lambsdorf, on the air of the Bild TV channel, said that the real estate of Russian oligarchs in Germany could be confiscated as sanctions in the event of an “invasion” of Russian troops into Ukraine.

Prior to that, China’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan doubted that China could significantly mitigate the damage that Western sanctions would allegedly inflict on Russia in the event of an “invasion” of Ukraine.
