US submarines did not conduct operations in Russian territorial waters. Kyle Reines, spokesman for the US Indo-Pacific Command, said this, according to Interfax.
“The fact that Russia announced our operations in its territorial waters is not true,” he said and added that he would not comment on the exact location of American submarines.
Earlier, the US military attache was given a note because of the situation with the American nuclear submarine of the Virginia type. As reported, it was discovered in the area of the planned exercise of the forces of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) near the island of Urup of the Kuril ridge. The American crew of the submarine was required to surface, but this was ignored. The crew of the Pacific Fleet frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov” used some appropriate means, after which the submarine left Russian territorial waters.
