The Turkish Foreign Ministry received a refutation of statements about a hypothetical Russian invasion of Ukraine from sources in Russia and Belarus. This was stated by the head of the ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, who called on Western politicians to be careful with statements about Russia’s allegedly impending attack on Ukraine on the air of CNN Türk.

As Cavusoglu noted, there are no panic expectations in Turkey associated with an attack on Ukraine – Ankara only declares help to its citizens if they need evacuation.

Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry recommended that its fellow citizens refrain from visiting the east of Ukraine.

The head of the diplomatic department referred both to sources in Belarus, denying the possibility of an attack on Ukraine through the territory of Belarus, and to Russia-NATO negotiations on mutual security guarantees, which refute preparations for the alleged invasion.

For the fourth month in a row, the world media have been reporting on the impending attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, which should take place in the winter of 2021-2022. The most recent date was announced by US President Joe Biden, who announced the day before that Russia would invade Ukraine on February 16.
