Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas
There are 503,900 false dollars that were seized from inside a car that was circulating in the El Paraíso sector in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
Police personnel carried out a control on Wednesday in that sector when they detected that its two occupants in a vehicle reacted suspiciously when observing the presence of police officers. The uniformed officers asked to stop the vehicle to carry out a verification of the unit.
The agents checked the two citizens of Colombian origin, who were carrying four cell phones, and inside the car they found a cardboard box containing ten bundles with copies of bills similar to those of 100 US dollars.
Four arrested in Saraguro for counterfeit bills
The amount carried by citizens Diego Fernando QR and John Jaider MB amounted to 503,900 false dollars.
It is the second announcement of counterfeit bills after the detection of a similar case in Loja last Wednesday, where even machines that would be used to make those bills were seized.
In the first versions of those apprehended, they indicated that these false bills were going to be transferred to Guayaquil, although they did not specify the origin or how they had obtained the invalid bills.
The detainees were handed over at the orders of the corresponding judicial body and the entered evidence (paper money and vehicle), to the warehouses of the Judicial Police. (I)
