In Ashgabat and a number of other regions of Turkmenistan, citizens were required to wear only white masks. This is reported by Turkmen.news with reference to sources in the administration. The reasons for this decision were not made public.
In Turkmenabad, which is the administrative center of the Lebap region, officials and schoolchildren are required to wear white masks. The same rules were introduced in schools and kindergartens in the city of Turkmenbashi in the Balkan region. Heads of educational institutions and teachers will be responsible for compliance with these rules, and separate meetings were held for parents on the mask issue. Until February 18, checks are being carried out in schools, and directors will be reprimanded for violations of this order.
In December last year, it was reported that in Ashgabat, traffic policemen stopped drivers in colored masks, then pedestrians and university students began to demand to wear only white ones. A violator of the “color” regime faces a fine of 50 manats (about 2,000 rubles).
