New Zealand director Peter Jackson is the highest-paid showbiz executive in 2021. This is reported by Forbes magazine, which published one of its traditional ratings.
The publication clarifies that many of the list took high positions in the top due to the sale of part of their companies, studios or rights to music and other assets.

Second place went to rock musician Bruce Springsteen – also thanks to a lucrative deal. In December, Bruce sold all the rights to his music to the Sony Music Group label for about $500 million. For 2021 as a whole, he earned $435 million.
In third place is rapper Jay-Z, whose annual earnings amounted to $340 million. He sold his stake in the champagne brand Armand de Brignac, and also parted with his stake in the streaming service Tidal.
The top ten richest celebrities in 2021 also include blockbuster star Dwayne Johnson, rapper Kanye West, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, musician Paul Simon, actor, director and playwright Tyler Perry, vocalist of the pop group One Republic Ryan Tedder and music legend Bob Dylan.
