According to a review published in the Journal of Family Practice, even a single consumption of fenugreek seeds can lead to a noticeable reduction in cholesterol levels. According to scientists, fenugreek seeds showed a statistically significant reduction in total cholesterol by 15-33%. This effect was found in five studies. It is noted that the use of fenugreek leaves showed a slight decrease in cholesterol – only 9%.

Whole and ground fenugreek seeds can be added to salads and sauces, and they are also traditionally included in mixtures such as curry and adjika.

Previously, scientists have found that apples are a good way to lower cholesterol. They are rich in tocopherol, which thins blood plasma and reduces cholesterol on the walls of blood vessels. The vegetable fibers contained in them have a positive effect on the increase in healthy microflora, which helps the blood to remain fluid, inhibiting the absorption of excess fats and glucose from food.
