The mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas, announced the decree of the Metropolitan Emergency Operations Committee (COE) on the change of epidemiological alert from orange (high) to yellow (medium). With this, the restriction rules and permitted capacity are modified.
Measure came into effect from noon this Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
According to the mayor, this decision was made according to the report issued by the Secretary of Security on the epidemiological situation of the capital.
This is how the capacity remains with the yellow alert:
- Bars and nightclubs, tolerance and nightlife centers, training centers and gyms that carry out contact activities may operate with a restricted capacity of 50% and compliance with the biosafety protocol issued by the Ministry of Health.
- Malls (including food courts), supermarkets and markets with 75% capacity.
- banking agencies and corporate with 70% capacity.
- Restaurants: inside 70% and outside 80%.
- Cinemas and theaters with 60% capacity.
- gyms With the exception of gyms and training centers for the practice of sports and/or contact activities 75%.
- Auditoriums, convention centers, tourist accommodation (in spaces where events are held) and reception and banquet rooms when corporate and academic events are held -MICE: 80% indoors and 85% outdoors.
- Auditoriums, convention centers, tourist accommodation (in the spaces where events are held) and the reception and banquet rooms when they hold social events: interior 70% and exterior 80%.
