On Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning in the Boca de Bigua sector, in the Jama canton, the Police dismantled a gang dedicated to international drug trafficking that operated from this Manabi town.
Six hundred and sixty-eight packets of cocaine hydrochloride were seized, but no arrests were made.

According to police reports, the confiscation is the result of the operation called Fogata, which also allowed the seizure of weapons, cell phones, documents, a car and a motorcycle.
Agents from the Anti-Narcotics Investigations Unit (UIAN) participated in the operation, among other elite groups of the Police; in addition, Naval Intelligence personnel of the Armed Forces.
During the investigation it was determined that the narco-criminal group was dedicated to the supply, storage, transport and international traffic of the alkaloid from Colombia, for which it used maritime routes.

In the operation, a cement construction house and a wooden warehouse were raided, in which a hidden cove was identified. Twenty-three black jute bags were extracted, with several brick-type packages inside containing rectangular blocks wrapped with packing tape.
The evidence was transferred to the Manta canton. The Police reported that they are still working on this case and that other details will be given later. (I)
