More than 40% of voters who voted for former US President Donald Trump believe that the crisis around Ukraine does not concern the United States, while 38% of Trump supporters believe that America should “stop Russia and help Ukraine.” This is evidenced by research data portal Yahoo News and YouGov. Moreover, 49% of “Trumpists” believe that the United States should not accept “any” of the parties to the conflict.
Among supporters of incumbent Joe Biden who participated in the survey, 60% insist that assistance to Ukraine is in the interests of the United States, and only 20% believe that the situation does not concern the United States. The policy of neutrality is preferred by 29% of people.
The survey was conducted on February 3-7, it was attended by about 1.6 thousand adult US citizens.
The hypothetical attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, which should take place in the winter months of 2021-2022, is the subject of attention of the world and Ukrainian media and the heat of passions among US and EU politicians who threaten Russia with especially harsh sanctions.
