The central streets of St. Petersburg were covered with dirty snow, ice and puddles. The townspeople shared with the correspondent of “Rosbalt” stories about injuries received due to bad weather and poor cleaning of the territories.

A resident of the Kalininsky district, Inna, fell twice during the winter on a narrow sidewalk near Lesnoy pr., 3. Pedestrians barely walk around each other on a one and a half meter path, where a tram stop is also located.

“Now there is melted snow and puddles, and this is still good, because since January the sidewalk has been completely covered with ice, it is impossible to walk. I fell twice. Why don’t they remove anything? the woman was indignant.

The correspondent of Rosbalt, 10 minutes from Lesnoy pr. to the metro station Ploshad Lenina, noticed huge puddles when leaving the sidewalks onto the roadway, snowy mountains and slippery ice without reagents. The same consequences of bad weather affected the streets adjacent to the Field of Mars and the surroundings to the north of Nevsky Prospekt.

“I don’t know how to describe this game. Math comes to mind. Two of my friends got to the emergency room because of ice. I’ve been lucky so far, ”Elena said at Konyushenny Lane. “I didn’t think I’d enjoy the puddles. Anything is better than pure ice. Although it will be cold soon. I imagine what will happen.”

For an hour and a half walk through the center of St. Petersburg, the correspondent slipped only four times, but did not fall. Sidewalks turned out to be clean only on Nevsky Prospekt near the metro station of the same name.

The editors sent a request to the health committee about the number of victims on the ice in the period from January 19 to the present. At the time of publication, no response had been received.

Recall that from December 15 to January 18, 3,158 citizens who were injured on ice or due to ice melting needed an ambulance, that is, an average of 90 people a day.

Earlier, mass searches were held in St. Petersburg due to poor-quality snow removal.
