St. Petersburg art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3) and psychotherapist Ilya Kosolapov are launching a new project “Vest”. The format of the event resembles a psychological support group. The first meeting will take place on February 16 at 19:00.

The author and host of the meetings is the St. Petersburg psychotherapist Ilya Kosolapov. He has been treating patients with depression, anxiety and other disorders for 15 years, conducting family therapy, helping children and adolescents.

“Each of us is constrained by certain restrictions in expressing our emotions,” the psychotherapist notes. – The fact is that in modern society there are many types of intolerance and social behavioral rules: for example, we cannot shout to the boss “you got me, scum!”, because we will be fired. We don’t want our relatives to see our tears, as they are the ones who forced us to always “be strong”. We do not allow ourselves to enjoy every day, because we still need to do everything to achieve some goals. And just to rejoice for no reason is a sign of you know what.

Unfortunately, the habit of hiding true emotions leads to the fact that they do not appear at the right time and in the right place. As a result, they accumulate, disrupting the functioning of adaptation systems, which leads to irritability, anxiety and / or depression, psychosomatic problems, etc.

In the art space mArs every Wednesday at 19.00 meetings will be held to teach the free expression of emotions “Vest”. Psychotherapist Kosolapov will teach visitors to cry, to express their irritation in an environmentally friendly way and to enjoy every day. Each visitor is able to become part of an empathic, caring and accepting environment in which it is easy to find emotional freedom.

The groups are for healthy people without a psychiatric diagnosis. You can buy tickets through Timepad.

Earlier, Ilya Kosolapov told in an interview why the peasants in Tsarist Russia were happier than us.
