Cumberbatch, “Dune” and the Russian cartoon: the nominations for “Oscar”-2022 are announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the list of Oscar nominees. The broadcast could be viewed on the YouTube channel of the film award.

The leader in the number of nominations was Jane Campion’s western “Power of the Dog” – he will compete for the statuette in 12 categories at once. In second place is the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel Dune. A film with an outstanding cast and a stack of mixed reviews in its luggage is presented in ten categories.

Russian cinema in 2022 dropped out of the race for the Oscars – Kira Kovalenko’s film Unclenching Fists was not included in the shortlist. The 94th Academy Awards Gala will be held in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theater on March 27.
