The former commander of the militia of the unrecognized Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Igor Strelkov (Girkin) criticized the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin about his readiness to provide political asylum to the ex-leader of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. When Poroshenko was president, we recall that the Ukrainian armed forces launched an operation against the armies of the self-proclaimed republics in order to recapture the Donbass.
From Strelkov’s point of view, “for all the rhetoric” of Putin’s proposal, it is offensive to the opponents of Kiev – “a spit on all the dead and maimed defenders of the LDNR and even Russian “vacationers”.
“Hmmm… this is not the “bottom”. – This is the “bottom” – Strelkov posted such a harsh statement on his page on the VKontakte social network.
Making such an offer, continued the ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR, the President of Russia allegedly made it clear that in his “image” “all the fallen defenders of Donbass are not worth regretting cattle.”
At the same time, Poroshenko, in such rhetoric, “as he was, and remained,” despite his policies, “a respected partner in Kiev” and “the best choice of Ukraine,” Strelkov concluded.
During the presidency of Vladimir Zelensky in Ukraine, Poroshenko was accused of treason. Putin, having received French President Emmanuel Macron the day before, at a press conference following the results of these negotiations, said that Moscow could shelter Poroshenko.
In response, Poroshenko gave Putin “advice.” “I advise Vladimir Vladimirovich to finally realize that we will figure it out ourselves, here in Ukraine,” wrote the politician, leader of the European Solidarity party. At the same time, Poroshenko took credit for the fact that when he won the elections, “the age-old Russian practice of ‘taking care’ of Ukrainian politics ceased.” Read more here.
