In Russia, buckwheat, sausages and dumplings rose the most in non-chain retail

Prices for food products in non-chain retail of the Russian Federation jumped last month by 10% year-on-year, and buckwheat, dumplings and sausages rose the most during the year, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the monitoring company Evotor.

They indicated that, in general, in January, prices for products in non-chain retail rose by 1%.

At the same time, in annual comparison, buckwheat became more expensive by 24%, sausages – by 22%, dumplings – by 21%, and gingerbread and waffles – by 18%.

It should be noted that earlier today the Vedomosti newspaper reported that the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) of the Russian Federation, following the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, adjusted its inflation forecast for the current year to a significant increase – from 4% immediately to 5.9%.

We also add that, according to Rosstat, consumer prices in the country for the period from January 22 to 28 rose by 0.19%, and in annual comparison, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, inflation reached 8.82% against 8.64% a week earlier .

Russia ended last year with an inflation rate of 8.39%, which was more than double the target of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
