Russian troops are at home, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Channel One, commenting on information about the “concentration” of the military near the borders with Ukraine.

“It is not for you now, representing the Anglo-Saxon world, to count how many army we have, where the Armed Forces are located and where they are moving. Where they need to be, they are there, they are at home, ”she said.

Since 2021, statements have been made in Western countries, as well as in Ukraine, about a possible “invasion” of Russia into Ukrainian territory. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is moving troops within its territory and at its own discretion. According to him, it does not threaten anyone. He also talked about how Russia still sees no easing of tension over Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine.

Earlier, the US agency Bloomberg published a headline about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, then removed it and acknowledged the error. Meanwhile, Reuters, citing two unnamed US officials, reported that the losses of the Ukrainian military in the event of an “invasion” by Russia could range from 5,000 to 25,000 people. According to the publication, from 25 thousand to 50 thousand may die among the civilian population, from 3 thousand to 10 thousand among the Russian military. The total maximum number of possible victims in the event of a Russian “invasion”, according to the United States, is 85 thousand.
