“Kommersant”: The ex-Minister of Tourism of Stavropol opened a case

The former Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory, Alexander Trukhachev, was detained. It is reported by Kommersant.

According to the publication, a criminal case was initiated against the former official on the fact of abuse of power. This was preceded by checks by the prosecutor’s office of the Stavropol Territory and the regional department of the FSB.

During the audit, it was found that the Ministry of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory in 2020 concluded a state contract “for the provision of services in preparation for holding mass events in 2021” in the amount of more than 45 million rubles. It was about organizing a fireworks festival. As it turned out, the subject of the contract was “services provided to the Ministry of Tourism under a similar contract” concluded in 2019. Inefficient and unlawful spending of budget funds in the amount of about 35 million rubles was revealed, and the auction documentation for the 2020 contract was prepared for a pre-selected organization.

Alexander Trukhachev led the ministry from 2017 to June 2021.

Earlier in the Stavropol Territory, a criminal case was also initiated under a similar article against the current Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Territory, Kirill Reut. The budget of the Stavropol Territory suffered damage in the amount of more than 25.1 million rubles.
