Australia opens borders to vaccinated tourists. This, according to Kommersant, reports AFP, said Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

“It has been almost two years since we made the decision to close the borders… If you have been double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back to Australia.”

The Australian government has decided to close the borders in 2020 due to the outbreak of the pandemic.

In January, Australia recognized the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. At the same time, travelers will have to pass two PCR tests and undergo quarantine.

Earlier it was reported that tennis player Novak Djokovic was deported from Australia. On December 4 last year, 34-year-old Djokovic announced that he had received a medical exemption, which was approved by the authorities of the Australian state of Victoria and the country’s tennis federation. After that, he went to Melbourne. There, he was denied entry to Australia due to violation of anti-coronavirus requirements, his visa was canceled. He was supposed to be deported, but the lawyers filed an appeal in federal court. The court sided with Djokovic. But the Australian authorities still had the right to cancel Djokovic’s visa on their own, which Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used on January 14.
