This Friday the military carried out operations in the suburb and on the island of Trinitaria.

President Guillermo Lasso went this Friday the 22nd to a military compound in Guayaquil. He did it to greet members of the Armed Forces before they went out to patrol the streets this weekend. Lasso attended a discussion with the Armed Forces that was held at the Huancavilca Military Fort, but beforehand he took the opportunity to thank and congratulate the uniformed men who were already in training in the courtyards. He highlighted their work during the vaccination process and told them that thanks to their collaboration and commitment, the economy and face-to-face work are being reactivated. Also, the children are going back to school.

“We know what their training is, but today we need them on the streets. Take action and feel the support of your government, “said President Lasso before the military got on the trucks and several tanks and went out to tour some sectors of the city. This Friday, from 3:00 p.m., the military toured the Portete and Esteros districts. They were located on various roads in the suburb to check vehicles and passengers. The same was done on the island of Trinitaria and in other parts of the south of the city.

There are more than 2,000 soldiers and more than 4,000 police officers who would participate in these operations in the streets. This was stated this Thursday by the Government of Guayas and this Friday, with the presence of the president and the government ministers, Alexandra Vela, and of Defense, Luis Hernández, other points were analyzed.

The security meeting in the Guayas governorate took place after the president gave an announcement to the country in which he assured that the price of fuels and basic food products is frozen.

Minister Vela explained when leaving the meeting that the results cannot be immediate. He stressed that until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, no more violent deaths had been reported.

So far this year in Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón) 523 violent deaths have been reported. Last year in the same period there were 291 cases. (I)
