Residents of Kharkov massively took part in a large-scale action. A unity march was held in the city to “show the whole world that Kharkiv is a Ukrainian city” and that Kharkiv residents are ready to defend it in the event of a possible “invasion” of Russia.
The event was held without party symbols. The townspeople chanted “Kharkiv is Ukraine”, “Ukraine is above all!”, “East and West together!”.

Order at the actions was provided by the security forces and the cynological service.
The day before, the Kharkiv City Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations twice recommended that the Unity March be canceled in the city, but the event nevertheless took place.
Recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that Russian troops were occupying Kharkiv. “I will say realistically, if Russia decides to increase the escalation, of course they will do it in those territories where people historically live who had family ties with Russia. Kharkiv, which is under the control of the Ukrainian government, could be occupied. Russia needs an excuse: they will say that they are protecting the Russian-speaking population, ”Zelensky said in an interview with The Washington Post.
A little later, the American television channel CNN aired a story dedicated to the aggravation of the situation around Ukraine and Russian exercises on the border with this country. However, throughout the entire video, the inscription “Kharkov, Russia” was visible in the upper right corner, where the maneuvers allegedly took place.
It should be noted that Kharkiv is the second most populated city in Ukraine, it is the administrative center of the Kharkiv region of the same name.
