The Russian futsal team in the semi-finals of the European Championship, held in the Netherlands, beat the Ukrainian team – 3:2.

The match turned out to be tough. The Russians scored in the first half after a goalkeeper’s mistake (Anton Sokolov). The Ukrainians picked up five fouls very quickly and half of the half had to play carefully so as not to run into a 10-meter kick. The yellow-blacks switched to a five-field game, or rather, putting a “goalkeeper-driver” in the goal, securing control of the ball. True, they received the second ball from Andrey Afanasyev, but managed to win back one before the whistle for the break.

Artyom Niyazov’s half-scissor ball, which was a masterpiece, seemed to almost guarantee the victory of the Russian team, but the rivals, again playing in the field with five of them, narrowed the gap in the score. And 1.12 before the final siren, the judges quite rightly assigned a six-meter kick to the Russian team. In the mini this is almost always the right goal, but Dmitry Putilov did not guess and beat off the ball sent to the center.

Now the Russian team will play in the final, which is far from the first in its track record, but the only victory at the European Championship was won back in 1999.

The opponent will be determined in the match Portugal – Spain.
