Omsk law enforcement officers on suspicion of torturing a 9-month-old child detained a local man named Zhivoder. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
The Investigative Committee said that 32-year-old Pavel Zhivoder boasted to the investigators that he was fond of karate, but refused to admit his guilt. Earlier it was reported that the beaten baby was the stepson of the suspect and was registered for disability. Now the child is hospitalized.
The detainee is charged with the fact that he, “punishing”, hit the child on the head with his hands, grabbed his legs, turned him over and shook him. His cohabitant, according to investigators, was not around at that moment.
The Investigative Committee notes that the family recently moved to Omsk from Nizhnevartovsk. On January 26, the mother returned to Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug for paperwork. The woman has three children – the affected boy has brothers or sisters born in 2017 and 2020. These days they were also with Zhivoder. As a result of the incident, guardianship seized the older children and sent them to a specialized orphanage.
