Turkey normalizes relations with Armenia with the consent and approval of Azerbaijan, within the framework of the principle “One nation – two states”. This was stated by the press secretary of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey, Omer Celik, Trend reports.

He cited the words of Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan that his country “will not participate in any initiatives that the Azerbaijani people and state consider inappropriate.”

Celik recalled that earlier the Turkish President advised Armenia to abandon its claims and aggressive attitude towards Azerbaijan, as a result of which “a vision of a large-scale peace mechanism may appear with the participation of other states of the region – Russia, Iran and Georgia,”

He assured that Erdogan intends to further contribute to regional peace and prevent a “crisis in the Black Sea.” It should be noted that today Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Ukraine, which Turkey invariably supports in its conflict with Russia.

To recall, there are still no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, but recently contacts between the two countries have intensified, and an agreement was even reached on the resumption of air traffic.
