Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid believes that a serious confrontation between Ukraine and Russia should not be expected in the near future. This was reported by TASS, referring to the conversation between Lapid and a correspondent of the Axios portal.

According to Lapid, who plans to discuss the threat of a Russian invasion with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a few days, Israel does not currently believe that “a third world war is about to begin there either.”

Lapid stressed that Israel would act cautiously with regard to both states, since both there are large Jewish communities. In Russia – the third largest, and in Ukraine – the fifth.

Today, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kiev is ready for negotiations with Moscow “in any format.” According to him, in order to find a diplomatic solution to the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has been going on for eight years, “Ukraine is ready to meet with Russia in any format of negotiations.”
