The prosecutor’s office of the Kamchatka Territory will check media reports about paid services provided by the ambulance station of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. This was reported on the website of the department, which intends to check the validity and legitimacy of the provision of paid services, as well as the procedure for their establishment.
As local media reported with reference to the stories of the ambulance staff themselves and the results of their own checks, this service is provided by on-duty medical teams, which leads to the fact that citizens who called the ambulance have to wait longer for the on-duty team to leave. The results of the control experiment showed that the employees of the ambulance really transport citizens for a fee both in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and beyond it, while they are ready to fulfill orders typical of a taxi – for example, to deliver a client to the city airport.
The regional Ministry of Health allegedly confirmed this fact to journalists, adding that such facts are rare – if there are several duty teams not involved in calls, and that this practice does not affect the quality of the medical institution.
