MANTA, Manabi
A man died this Wednesday afternoon in a section of the Manta-Colisa road, corresponding to the Montecristi canton, in Manabí.
The accident occurred between a car with license plates from Manabí, in which the victim and a companion were traveling, and a bus from the Vuelta Larga intercantonal cooperative, whose driver was not found at the scene of the road accident.
The fatal victim of this accident was identified as Jorge Lucas Rosado, approximately 50 years old.
Lucas’s body was trapped between the irons of the vehicle he was driving.
Montecristi firefighters used extrication tools for almost half an hour to remove the body of the deceased.

Ricardo Lucas, chief of the Montecristi Fire Department, indicated that they received the alert from the ECU911 of Portoviejo, before which they came with about ten firefighters and three vehicles to provide assistance to the affected person and then remove the body.
The road where the accident occurred has not yet been completed and has been abandoned for more than two years. During that time, several traffic accidents have been reported.
