British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who arrived in Kiev the day before for talks with the Ukrainian president, got into an awkward situation just getting out of the car and greeting Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the handshake, an assistant ran up to Johnson and snatched a folder of documents from him. This moment was caught on video.
It should be noted that during the negotiations, Zelensky and Johnson discussed the “Russian threat”. After consultations, a joint statement was published on the official website of the President of Ukraine, which states that the United Kingdom, in the face of “Russian aggression”, stands “side by side” with Ukraine.
In a statement, Johnson said the UK was committed to “the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.” The two heads of state emphasized that Ukrainians have the right to determine their own future and warned that “further Russian intervention in Ukraine would be a massive strategic mistake.”
The leaders also announced their agreement to jointly strengthen the security and defense capabilities of Ukraine, and Boris Johnson reaffirmed his intention to provide the country with 88 million pounds. The money will be used to support Ukraine’s resilience and reduce its dependence on Russian energy supplies, the statement said.
