The chief nutritionist of the capital’s health department, Antonina Starodubova, told which foods are harmful to those with SARS.

According to her, it is better to forget about hot spices, smoked meats, coffee and strong tea for a while. “With SARS, for a successful recovery, one should not overload the digestive system with heavy, indigestible food,” the physician explained to the Moscow agency.

Starodubova advised sick people to use fermented milk products that help normalize the intestinal microflora, drink decoctions of berries and rose hips, as well as fruit drinks. “Pay attention to foods rich in natural antioxidants, vitamins C and A. These are cranberries, lingonberries, currants, rose hips, citrus fruits, bell peppers, carrots, pumpkins, onions, garlic, fresh herbs,” the doctor recommends.

As the nutritionist noted, protein for a sick person should be easily digestible, so lean meats and poultry, as well as fish, should be preferred.

Recall that with signs of SARS in Moscow, you can contact the doctor on duty at any nearest clinic without an appointment and a call. In addition, remote audio consultations with a doctor were organized for Muscovites.
