Polish Foreign Minister Zibgnev Rau fears that Russia will build up its military presence in Belarus. The minister announced this after a meeting with his Estonian counterpart Eva-Maria Liimets, says Polskie Radio.
According to him, this is indicated not only by the joint military exercises of the two countries, but also by other indirect signs.
In addition, the minister expressed his readiness to accept refugees from Ukraine if a military conflict breaks out between Moscow and Kiev.
Poland has a long tradition of Polish hospitality when it comes to refugees who really need our help,” says Zbigniew Rau. “At the moment, we have more than 1 million Ukrainians living and working in Poland.”
Like many EU countries, Poland is convinced of the high probability of a hypothetical Russian attack on Ukraine, which could take place in the winter of 2021/2022. Since November last year, this has been reported by the world media, which publish pictures of Russian military equipment allegedly concentrated in the regions bordering Ukraine, and maps of the alleged directions of “Russian attacks”.
