Police detected a hiding place from which drones with weapons and ammunition were allegedly sent to a gang of the Penitentiary

In addition, last month with these teams they attacked the Los Choneros pavilion, as they threw sticks of dynamite.

On September 13, with the use of drones, several explosives were thrown at the roofs of pavilions 5 and 6 of the maximum security area of the Litoral Penitentiary to attack the Los Choneros gang. It is presumed that the attack was planned by Los Lobos and this Thursday the hiding place from where this technological equipment was supposedly operating was finally discovered.

In the house of a private urbanization located on the road to Daule, about five kilometers from the Guayaquil prison complex, three drones were found, one of them capable of carrying up to 20 kilos.

In addition, an arsenal was discovered in the rooms of the house and in the courtyard, which supposedly belonged to Los Lobos. The agents of the General Directorate of Intelligence found 52 sticks of dynamite, 2 9-millimeter-caliber pistols, 1,003 2.23-caliber cartridges, 200 38-caliber cartridges, 50 detonating capsules, slow fuse and a vehicle. Some items were buried in the courtyard of the house.

Christian Javier Ch. V., known as Trigger, and Daira Milenka AV, said the Police. Both had come to rent that property several months ago, according to the procedures of the institution. Trigger He had been released from prison four months ago and would belong, together with his wife, to the criminal organization.

The Police presume that these air transport equipment served for surveillance tasks (to the enemy gangs) and even to supply the inmates of one of the prisons in Guayaquil.

“This weapon was going to be entered, through drones, to jail,” said the entity on social networks.

The general commander of the National Police, Tannya Varela, pointed out that the drones found are similar to those used in the explosions reported last September.

An intelligence agent detailed to this newspaper that the dynamite blocks found in the house are of Peruvian origin, that they are explosives normally used for mining activities and that, if there is an explosion, the range of each of the 52 blocks is 950 meters, in an open space.

“If the dynamite blocks are old, the material becomes more unstable. If there was an explosion, it would take a few blocks, ”said the agent.

Alias Trigger and his partner were transferred to the Model Barracks Prosecutor’s Office, where the flagrante delicto hearing would be held on Thursday night. The Prosecutor’s Office will process them for articles 360 and 361 of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP) for possession and carrying of weapons and for possession of unauthorized ammunition and explosives.

SNAI server apprehension

In addition to the raid on that urbanization, the General Directorate of Intelligence also arrived at a house in the San Francisco cooperative, in front of the Penitentiary, where three suspects of entering prohibited objects into prisons were arrested.

Jefferson Jackson EB was arrested; Leonardo Antonio MC, aka Choco; and Rafael Alexander OG, of Venezuelan nationality.

Alias Choco he is an official of the National Service of Attention to Privy of Liberty (SNAI), according to the Police. There was a complaint against him that was reserved months ago and an investigation began to be carried out on how he collected firearms to bring them into the rehabilitation center.

The Police said that the official would be a collaborator of one of the organizations that operate in the prison, it was not specified which one, but it was ruled out that he had received threats.

In that house, 2 pistols and 33 cartridges were found, items that were supposed to be admitted to prison despite the state of exception in the prison system declared by President Guillermo Lasso weeks ago, due to the massacre registered in the Penitentiary that left a total of 120 inmates killed and more than 80 wounded.
