The theater Karlsson Haus (Furshtatskaya street, 30, entrance through the window) on February 1 and 2 will host the premiere of the play “Electric Locomotive VL 10” based on the play by Dmitry Danilov. The author of the stage version and director is the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Marina Solopchenko, the artist is the laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” Emil Kapelyush, the musical arrangement belongs to Marina Vasenina and Renat Shavaliyev. The texts will be performed by Marina Solopchenko and Renat Shavalieva. At the end of the performance, the audience will be able to talk with playwright Dmitry Danilov.

Dmitry Danilov is currently one of the most sought-after playwrights, as well as a poet. His works “The Man from Podolsk” and “Seryozha is very stupid” are shown in various Russian theaters, and based on the play “The Man from Podolsk”, director Sergei Serzin made a full-length film of the same name. Dmitry Danilov’s assets include the Andrei Bely Prize in the prose category (2019), the Golden Mask award for the play The Man from Podolsk in the Best Playwright category (2018), awards from Remarque drama competitions (2017) , “Climax” (2017). His play “Evidence” became the winner of the drama competitions “Initial Event – XXI Century” (2018) and “Characters” (2018). Danilov’s novel Horizontal Position was shortlisted for the Big Book and NOS awards in 2011, while Description of the City was shortlisted for the Big Book award (2013).
After the Golden Mask award, the playwright’s work attracted the attention of many Russian and foreign theaters. The play “The Man from Podolsk” was staged more than fifty times at various theater venues in Russia and abroad (Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan). Many well-known directors worked with the works of Dmitry Danilov – Mikhail Ugarov, Marina Brusnikina, Mikhail Bychkov, Oskaras Korshunovas, Evgeny Kamenkovich, Semyon Aleksandrovsky. This year his play was staged for the first time at the Karlsson Haus theatre.
