Russian troops arriving for exercises in Belarus are more of a threat to Minsk than Kiev. Confidence in this was expressed by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

The Minister compared the Russian military with the “occupation contingent,” writes “GORDON”.

As for the relations between Ukraine and Belarus, there are no problems or threats in them, Reznikov emphasized. According to him, Ukrainians have “very warm feelings for the Belarusian people,” and any forceful actions against the neighboring republic “contradict the interests of Ukraine.”

At the same time, the head of the defense department called “absolute nonsense” the version that the Ukrainian authorities could be preparing “armed provocations” in the Donbass.

In addition, Reznikov threatened Germany with a “problem in the form of a Democratic Republic” if it does not change its position in relation to “Russian aggression.”

“The material basis for the GDR already exists. This is not only Nord Stream 2, it used to be the Opal gas pipeline, these are also representatives of the German establishment on Russian salaries,” the minister said, UNIAN reports.

He considers the goal of the Russian authorities to be “changing the modern security architecture of the world”, which will include, among other things, the “restoration of the GDR”, as well as expanding influence in Western Europe.

Let us add that earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk called Berlin’s decision to transfer five thousand helmets to Ukraine “a purely symbolic gesture” and called on the German government to “show courage.”
