Belarus will establish the amount of damage from the actions of the Nazis and demand its compensation. This was stated by the head of the investigative group for the investigation of the criminal case on the genocide, the head of the department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic Valery Tolkachev.

According to BelTA, he noted that the currently known figures are “significantly lower than the real amount.” According to Tolkachev, “no one calculated and established” what were the losses of Belarus due to human casualties.

The Belarusian Ministry of Culture is also working to identify and return cultural property taken out of the country.

Earlier, Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrey Shved said that Germany during the Great Patriotic War caused damage to the republic in the amount equivalent to $ 500 billion. At the same time, he referred to “archival materials, including the Nuremberg trials.”

In turn, President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that “the whole world should know the truth,” especially “in the situation of a hybrid war” that was unleashed against Belarus.
