The Czech government approved the transfer of 4,000 pieces of artillery ammunition to Ukraine.

According to 420on.cz, the Czech government approved the transfer of 4,006 pieces of artillery ammunition to Ukraine in the amount of 36.6 million crowns. We are talking about shells with a caliber of 152 mm.

As the press secretary of the Czech Ministry of Defense Jakub Fainor explained, the donation was made in response to the request of Ukraine, which asked for help in response to a situation where Russia is concentrating significant military potential near the borders.

In the Czech army, such ammunition is used for DANA self-propelled gun howitzers. They will match the 155mm caliber used by NATO allies.

According to Finor, such assistance to Ukraine will help reduce the risk of armed conflict in Eastern Europe.

Earlier on Wednesday, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council and Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, Andrei Turchak, said that Russia should help the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics with the supply of certain types of weapons. In his opinion, this is necessary to increase their defense capability and deter Kiev’s military aggression. The DPR welcomed this initiative.

On the evening of January 26, the US Ambassador to Russia handed over to the Foreign Ministry Washington’s and NATO’s response to Russia’s proposals on security guarantees. According to preliminary data, NATO will not abandon the policy of openness regarding the entry of new members into the alliance. Let us recall that Russia demands that NATO not accept the former republics of the USSR, which are now independent states.
