It is advisable to postpone the 2022 Olympics in Beijing to next year, said Elena Vyalbe, head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).
According to TV2, Vyalde is convinced: “There will be no good Olympic Games” (we are talking about anti-covid restrictions – approx. Rosbalt). According to the legendary skier, for now, apparently, it will be good luck just to come to China.
Therefore, Vyalbe concluded, it would be better to postpone the Olympics for a year, perhaps the situation with covid will improve. “But, of course, it’s too late,” she stated.
Recall that the 2022 Olympics will be held from 4 to 20 February in Beijing. In cross-country skiing, 12 sets of medals will be played. Women will compete for medals in the disciplines of 10 km classical style, skiathlon, mass start free style, relay race, free style sprint and team sprint.
Vyalbe is a Soviet and Russian skier, multiple world and Olympic champion. Olympic champion and four-time world champion Finnish racer Mika Myllulya considered Elena Vyalbe the greatest skier of all time.
