Within the eight simultaneous raids carried out in Quito and Guayaquil for the crime of illicit association, the Police have detained four people.
Four people arrested, including an official of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), are the result of an operation simultaneous carried out this Thursday morning as part of a previous investigation that was carried out for the crime of illicit association. Tax agents and the National Police carried out eight raids in the cities of Quito and Guayaquil.
Among the properties searched were the FGE building, located on 9 de Octubre Street and Patria Avenue, in the north of Quito, several homes and facilities of Criminalistics and the Prosecutor’s Office, located in Calderón, in the north of the capital. The investigation of this case is based on a complaint made in the Transparency Directorate of the Prosecutor’s Office.

In the raids carried out simultaneously, the Prosecutor’s Office reported, eleven vehicles were seized and information has been recovered from institutional documents, telephones, invoices, USB electronic devices and money cash. The operation to collect evidence related to the facts under investigation they still continue in the two cities.
The three people arrested in Quito and another suspect apprehended in Guayaquil in the next few hours would be respective hearing for the formulation of charges. So far there is no official version of the illegal acts that are being investigated. (I)
