Two motorcyclists violently entered his house and shot him; the man died in a clinic.

A 56-year-old man, identified as Antonio Álava Quinteros, died on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 25, at a clinic in northwest Guayaquil after being shot inside his home.

The attack took place at 2:30 p.m. in the San Francisco 2 cooperative, in Pascuales, near the Penitentiary. Two men on a motorcycle arrived at Álava’s home and entered his house violently. There the victim, who owned a taxi cooperative, was shot twice.

Although he was taken to a nearby clinic, he lost his life, as he bled from the abdominal wound.

His relatives said that the death occurred because Antonio did not allow himself to be extorted by a gang that operates in the sector.
